PARENTING SKILLS SERVICE

Empowering You To Become A Better Parent

Parenting they say is probably the hardest job in the world. Not only do we have to navigate through good days and bad, ups and downs, making mistakes and being inconsistent with rules and guidance over parenting children, but we watch as they change and grow and we also change and grow. There is a constant flow of nothing ever staying the same.

Whilst there are hundreds of books telling us how to be a better parent, some of them fail to recognise that not one shoe fits all and that all families are unique, all people are unique and every child, young person and adult is also unique. Therefore, it is difficult to say one way of parenting would be right for everyone.

That is why The ACC’s popular monthly course acknowledges each and every parent as different and helps them to first discover their own individual abilities and skills and then offers a wide range of fun ideas to improve upon their parenting skills. Some will certainly work whilst other tools or techniques may need some modification to fit the individual parent.

At the ACC we truly believe asking for help is not a sign of weakness or failure. On the contrary, it is actually a sign of true strength and courage to say “I think I need a bit of help here.”

If you want to sign up for a place on our Teaching Parenting skills course or want to find out more then please let one of ACC team know and they will take all your details and get you registered.  Each course has a maximum of 12 participants and the course is practical where you will be doing a lot of moving, sharing and playing. The course is for adults 18+.  It is for parents, secondary caregivers, teachers, social workers, students and health and family support workers. We normally run the course at our contact centre in one of our lovely training rooms and the course takes place only on one day from: 10am – 2pm.
