PARENTING PLANNING SERVICE
Writing An Effective Joint Parenting Plan Together
ACC helps parents place the child central to all our services and putting the child's best interests first. We can help you to do the same.
There are lots of great benefits of making a Parenting Plan including:
-
Creating practical decisions about living arrangements, schooling, health care, holidays etc.
-
Who has the child/ren on what days or weekends.
-
How and when and when not to make contact.
-
Establishing rules around appropriate communication.
If you do go to court in the future, it is possible that they may expect you to have started a Parenting Plan. Parenting planning may also be a great way to later engage in mediation work with The ACC, if parents are still feeling either embittered, abused, angry, bullied or feel trust has been lost between them, and as a result do not believe that the Parenting Plan will be carried out as agreed. Completing a Parent Plan outside of court with The ACC is often the most stress free and cost effective option.
It can take place at our ACC contact centre in Dudley, in one of our private and comfortable and relaxing rooms over 4-8 hourly sessions, one hour per week. Both parents will need to be present and attend all agreed sessions.
ACC General Opening times: Monday – Friday: 10am – 7pm. Saturdays: 9am - 3pm.
